The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley held its 22nd annual Day of Caring event on Friday, September 6, 2019 where 1,200 volunteers joined forces to fight blight and build-up the city of Youngstown.
SenSource teamed with the American Red Cross’s Ohio Home Fire Campaign to install smoke alarms and LED lights in homes that don’t have them. We installed 15 smoke alarms and 6 outdoor LED lights, contributing to the 124 smoke alarms and 144 lights installed that day, making 83 homes safer. In addition, we educated home owners on home fire safety. Request a free smoke alarm or to volunteer with this project in your community >>
Simultaneously other projects were underway such as cleaning trash and down trees in vacant lots; demolishing a hazardous garage; repairing playgrounds; cleaning and landscaping sidewalks and medians; and installing a wheelchair ramp.
We are proud to be among the 90 area businesses and organizations who took a hands-on approach to create a positive impact in our community.
