The team at SenSource just wrapped up their first food drive of the year. Every quarter they hold a food or toiletry drive where all proceeds go to benefit the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.
For this first quarter of 2017 SenSource decided to offer a soup and sandwich lunch to their employees that participated in the food drive. For every employee that brought in a canned or non-perishable food item or who made monetary donations they would receive a free lunch on Thursdays.
The Rescue Mission is always in need of non-perishable food or toiletry items to help the many people who stay at the mission each night. They offer hot meals, clean clothing and shelter to those in need and operate off of volunteer support and donations.
The Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley is currently raising funds to try and “Move Our Mission”. Their existing building is 85 years old and is in deteriorating condition. Their campaign will allow them to construct a new building on donated land within the city of Youngstown allowing for more families to stay each night.
The SenSource team was able to raise $250 plus a bin full of food donations during the month of March. If you would like to learn more about the “Move Our Mission” campaign please visit the Rescue Mission MV website.
Besides the “Move Our Mission” effort, the team at SenSource helps their community by holding other food drives and volunteering their time. Read about their other ventures in these articles:
