SenSource employees, Dan Aluise and Greg Blair, were recognized at the Donate Life Celebration at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio on Friday, April 25. The two, along with President, Joe Varacalli, and Vice President, Kevin Stefko, received a “Thank You” award for risking “professional loss and personal inconvenience to facilitate life-saving organ transplant surgery.” Candace Brown, the transplant recipient, of Girard, Ohio, was given her fourth opportunity for a transplant in Minneapolis. The first three opportunities had unfortunately not worked out and when she arrived at the airport, the only flight going to Minneapolis was full. After explaining the situation to the airline employees and getting no feedback from the passengers, they began asking un-boarded passengers themselves. They met Dan and Greg, who were heading to Minneapolis for a sales presentation. Immediately they called the SenSource home office, getting the go-ahead to give their seats to Candace who made it in time for her transplant operation. “It is amazing to have had a small part in Brown’s transplant journey”, says Aluise.
