As the holiday season approaches SenSource, once again, participated in the annual adopt-a-family 2019 program through Project MKC. Each year the team at SenSource looks forward to participating in this program. This was their eighth year adopting a local family from the Mahoning Valley and donating toys and clothing to help make the holiday a little brighter.
This year SenSource adopted a family with four children, two boys and two girls ranging in age from 4 to 14 years old. The team put together a giving tree with ornaments listing each of the children and a single gift idea for each one. Team members were able to purchase something from the ornament or another thoughtful gift idea or even make monetary donations.
SenSource collected over $400 and a tree full of toys, clothing, and shoes for the children. The money was used to purchase any requested toys that weren’t already purchased and extra gift ideas matching the children’s interests.
All of the gifts were wrapped and then delivered to Project MKC last week where the parents of the family are able to pick-up all of the gifts before Christmas day.
Philanthropy is at the core of SenSource. They keep a very active corporate volunteer program and make it a point to volunteer or hold a fundraiser each quarter to benefit the community members. In the past year, SenSource has raised food and monetary donations benefiting the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley and participated in the Heart Walk with the American Heart Association and in the United Way Day of Caring event. They have also volunteered at Big Reach Center of Hope and Project MKC doing various tasks to assist wherever help is needed.
