Photoelectric People Counters Photoelectric people counters are mounted on the side of an entry and use narrow infrared thru-beam or retro-reflective technology to count traffic each time the beams are broken. They are best suited for lower volume traffic or smaller entries where people are not likely to enter and/or exit simultaneously. These people counters can be purchased in directional (separate counts for IN and OUT traffic) or non-directional (one total count for IN + OUT traffic) versions that can sense across distances up to 40ft. These systems can be used with simple numeric displays or equipped with any of our data collection systems.
