PCW-TB06 Series: If an LED indicator is not lit, is the sensor broken/off?

Last Updated: 2/3/2010 4:25:34 PM

Question
PCW-TB06 Series: If an LED indicator is not lit, is the sensor broken/off?

Answer
During normal operation, the LED indicator on the sensor will only illuminate when the beam is broken.

If the LED indicator does not illuminate when the beam is broken, the sensors may need a battery replacement, not be aligned, or not be turned ON.
  • Verify that both units are turned on: refer to PCW-TB06: How To Turn On, Off, and Reset
  • Check the alignment of the sensors by placing them on a flat surface, at least 2' apart, and breaking the beam with a thick object (e.g., hardcover book). Verify that the LED beams are visible through their respective holes and not obstructed by the enclosure.
  • Check the sensor batteries. The life expectancy of TB06 batteries is 1-2 years with normal use. Unless preceded by a "Use By" stamp, the date displayed on the battery is the manufactured date. Verify that the batteries are 3.6V AA Lithium.
